For the past 2 years Obama has campaigned on raising taxes on the millionaires. GOP proposed doing just that with keeping all tax rates the same for everyone except those making over $ 1 million per year. This would protect all lower/middle class incomes as well as 98% of small business. Now Obama and democrats OPPOSE this after spending 2 years calling for it.

I read Obama’s budget and plan to raise taxes and I have reservations.
It’s a small business and we are already undermanned so I’m nervous about losing my job.

What if they cant afford it? Giving a tax break for something unaffordable is no help.

There are a LOT of people that work for small businesses.

A small business is under 100 employees.

By taxing them until the only way they can keep their doors open is to beg the Federal Government for money. Then as a condition of taking that money they will be forced to provide health care to their employees.

No. In fact Obama will give more tax breaks to middle income Americans. He will increase the tax of those with yearly income of about 265,000, which is the elite and can afford it.

If you know anything about small businesses, you’ll realize that Obama’s proposed capital gains tax cuts is a joke:

Let’s look at the definition of a capital gains tax:

“A capital gains tax (abbreviated: CGT) is a tax charged on capital gains, the profit realized on the sale of a non-inventory asset that was purchased at a lower price. The most common capital gains are realized from the sale of stocks, bonds, precious metals and property.”

Do you see the big glaring problem here? The problem with small businesses is not what they pay in capital gains taxes, its what they pay in INCOME taxes. The owners of these businesses are not sitting back worrying themselves to death over paying a tax on the profit from the sale of a non-inventory asset that they purchased for a lower price. They’re worried about the taxes they pay on their profit! And they’re worried that those taxes are going to increase! Why? Because these small business owners are the exact people Obama talks about when he talks about tax increases on the rich. These are the very same people that Pelosi is talking about when she rants about a surtax on the rich to pay for health care. These are the people who are going to get nailed when the Democrats celebrate the expiration of the Bush tax cuts. These are the people that some Senate Democrats want to hit with a “war tax” to pay for Afghanistan. The Community Organizer wants you to think that the issue is capital gains taxes?

I remember hearing that he will raise income taxes on people who earn more than $ 250K in income? But won’t this decrease jobs since 70% of people work for small business owners who report their business earnings on personal income tax return?

This doesn’t seem to me to be economically stimulating because these business owners will have to cut jobs since their hiring power will decrease.

They report ALL business income, not just their personal income/pay from the business. So if you are employed with a business of, let’s say, 15 employees that business after expenses probably does generate more than $ 250K which the owner reports on their income tax return.
