What good is a middle class tax break if your rich small business boss’ taxes go up & he has to lay you off?

Question by Obama Kistan: What good is a middle class tax break if your rich small business boss’ taxes go up & he has to lay you off?
Most of the so-called rich the Libs are complaining about are small business owners who have already publicly said they will be forced to lay millions of Americans if their taxes go up.

If you employ millions, you’re not a small business. and a 3% tax increase on PROFIT isn’t going to change their bottom line much, anyway.

That is a bunch of bs and you know it…

  2. FOOD FIGHT! says:

Taxes are only on profits. If he makes 100,000 off of your work now he will make 3000 less afterward. He will get less profit after taxes but all the same he will keep you as long as you earn him a profit.

If he makes 10,000 off of your work he will get keep 300 dollars less,

If he makes 1000 of of your work he will make 30 dollars less

If he makes 100 off of your work he will make 3 dollars less

If he sends your job to China he will make a lot more.

  3. Freddy Smith says:

You have to help the poor not the rich, because its the poor and the ex-middle class that directly create demand.

It’s a waste of money spending it on the well-to-do people, for one thing they don’t need it, the other is because they cannot create any jobs without demand. Which business person is going to hire more people if no-ones got the money to buy his product?

I’m sick of the BS. claim that (“rich people need money more because they create jobs”)

Facts are if you look back in history, the boom times where when the rich were taxed the highest, the bad times, the recessions and depression occurred when the rich were taxed the lowest.

It’s exactly the opposite of what the rich claim.

If you create a economically healthy middle class, they’ll create the demand and business will also prosper. both classes will benefit.

Look at what’s happening now, corrupt banks, greed, inequality in distribution of wealth have all helped inprovished the worker-middle class. The middle class is the engine that’s drive’s a nations economy and gives it stability, without it you don’t get to far.

You know what they call a country with only rich & poor people. It’s called a 3rd World Country.

Pay less taxes on the endless unemployment benefits.

  5. Betelgeuse says:

When you raise taxes on business owners, they start thinking less about expanding and more about surviving, which often involves letting go of employees. It has happened before and it will happen again. Ignoring it won’t help. Most of these business owners would be counted as the “rich” when actually they’re just barely keeping their business alive.

  6. Navy DEP Recruit Macomber says:

I don’t know. Explain to me why small business thrived in the 70′s and 80′s when taxes were 2/3 higher. The country’s richest men – Donald Trump, Warren Buffet and Bill Gates for example – support Obama’s plan. There’s something to be said when the millionaires say tax me.

    None.

  8. Peace through blinding force says:

Mute question. The ENTIRE debate in Congress is over whether or not to RAISE taxes as the Democrats almost unanimously demand. NO Democrat is suggesting a tax break for ANYONE.

  10. Michael D says:

Obama is set on destroying this country and installing socialism. That’s what’s happening. Collapsing our economy. 70% of our economy is small business.
We are being destroyed from within.

  11. Mr.noitall says:

Tax cut or no tax cut, an employer will not keep people they don’t need.
If an employers taxes go up and they still have a need for the work force they employ they will keep them to stay in business.
If less taxes meant more jobs, unemployment would not be as high as it is.

  12. Duke Powerhand says:

If he could lay you off and still stay in business he would have done so already. I oppose the tax increases on the grounds that A) government does not need more money they need to cut spending. and B) People should not be punished for having made more money, which is really none of the government’s business. And C) the stock market will drop if capitol gains tax is increased.

I do not, however, believe that employment is going to be effected by making the rich pay more taxes.

  13. teeewalk says:

Sounds like the rich boss was a little too stupid and over-extended himself financially.
Why couldn’t he be more financially responsible and save up for any possible downturns?

  14. magick says:

FAIL >> Taxes are only a small part of business . Materials , machinery , rent / mortgage , insurance , utilities , labor , transportation , etc….. That SCARY ship has set sail ..

  15. Redjr01 says:

Everybody makes out well when the wealth is shared. The rich small business boss may lay you off but he’ll be hiring you back when demand for his products pick up. Besides, business owners of all sizes pay little taxes. The write offs they are allowed will offset a tiny little tax increase. They are only talking a 4% increase in personal tax rates. Small business taxes are already lower than personal rates. So, if this business owner lays people off because of higher personal taxes unrelated to business then he is a guy you don’t want to work for anyway.

  16. Coop 366 says:

How many small businesses make a million dollars for their owners? If a millionaire pays 20,000 dollars in taxes or a family making 250,000 dollars on two jobs paying 20,000 dollars in taxes, who is paying more per capita? The millionaire clears 980,000 dollars and the family clears 230,000 dollars, who needs it more?

  17. bluechristy says:

Really have a link on that ?

  18. Shane says:

Only 2-3% of small businesses earn more than $ 250K.

  19. Inca Yebail - The 6th profit. says:

There are two interpretations of the consequences of every political action. If the rich gain from a political act – even if a third of the nation’s population are driven into abject poverty – then the “news” that we hear will all be good. If 99% of the country’s population benefit immeasurably from a policy, but the wealthy see a small reduction in profits, or even a temporary stagnation, then the “news” that we are all given will be bad enough to drive some to suicide. When the right are in power, we only ever hear the positives enjoyed by the fantastically wealthy: the enormous numbers enduring increased misery are ignored completely. When the left are in power, no matter what they do the country will be about to enter an economic disaster following every policy: according to the “news” media; which are owned by the fantastically wealthy. Do you see? We humans NEED to wake up to this truth.

And yet the Republicons voted against extending the Tax Cuts, how noble of them.
